We think everyone deserves to spend their time on the work only they can do. Dystil takes care of the rest. This page is our promise about how we treat your data while it does, across the app, the website, and any time you reach out.

TL;DR

Dystil works for you. It finds the parts of your day an AI agent could take over. It is not a productivity tracker, and it never produces a report about you.

Your personal information never leaves your device. It is stripped out locally, before anything is sent.

We keep almost nothing. Your data is purged the moment it is processed. What remains is the pattern we found, never your screen.

Who you’re dealing with

Dystil is built by Second Order Systems (Motiseth Technologies Pvt Ltd), out of Bengaluru. When this page says “we,” that’s us. One company, one policy. Indian law applies.

The data we handle

We hold as little as we can. Here’s all of it, by how it reaches us.

When you use the app

Dystil periodically observes what’s on your screen and which app is in front. That’s the raw material for spotting repetitive steps, manual handoffs, and work an agent could do instead.

It never captures:

• Keystrokes
• Passwords, or anything typed into a password field
• Clipboard contents
• Your camera or microphone
• Anything at all while Dystil is paused

When you visit our website

The pages you land on and basic analytics, so we know what’s working. No advertising trackers. We don’t sell your browsing to anyone.

When you email or call

We keep what you send, so we can help and follow up. That’s the whole use.

Two ways to run Dystil

On your own infrastructure.Deploy Dystil locally or on-premise and nothing leaves your environment. No captured data, no derived data, no telemetry. We can’t see it, because there’s nothing for us to see.

With us. Everything is processed on trusted cloud infrastructure, with your data residing in India. We treat anything that could be sensitive as if it is.

What happens before anything leaves your laptop

Capture and the first pass of processing both happen on your machine. Local AI models redact what Dystil sees and strip out anything personal: names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, financial identifiers, government IDs. Only redacted data ever moves.

The honest caveat

Redaction is very good. It isn’t perfect. Across millions of observations, a fragment can slip through.

We could have written “nothing personal ever leaves your device,” and you’d have believed us. We didn’t, because it wouldn’t be true, and then nothing else on this page would be worth reading.

So we built for the miss instead. Everything below exists because we assume redaction will occasionally let something through.

What we keep

Almost nothing.

Redacted data comes in, gets processed, and is purged right after. Not archived. Not saved for a rainy day. Not moved somewhere quieter.

What survives is aggregate: the shape of the patterns we found, and the suggestions we show you. None of it is your screen.

Things we will never do

• Train models on your data. Ours or anyone else’s.
• Sell, rent, or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
• Hand your employer individual reports, screenshots, timesheets, or scores.
• Keep your data after we’ve processed it.
• Change any of the above quietly.

That last one matters most. If we ever change what we collect, how long we keep it, or who can see it, you’ll hear it from us inside the app before it happens, not in a diff on a webpage. You’re free to walk at that moment.

What your company sees

Aggregate findings, and where the automation opportunities are across workflows.

Never who did what, when, for how long, or how often. If someone at your company asks us for that, the answer is no, and we’ll tell you they asked.

Your controls

Pause. Menu bar, one click. Capture stops on your machine, so nothing is recorded and nothing can be sent. The control is genuinely yours, not a request we choose to honour.

Quit. Same place. Dystil stops entirely.

Delete everything. Ask us to wipe everything about you, and we will. Confirmed in writing.

Ask what we hold.Write to us. We’ll tell you plainly, and the answer is usually shorter than you expect.

If we’re ever legally forced to disclose data, we’ll tell you, unless the law forbids us from saying so.
